Sunrise Point

Author: Robyn Carr
Genre:Contemporary romance
Rating:B

Review:
A great addition to the virgin river series. I would have liked to have read more of the building of Nora and Tom's feelings for each other, along with the kisses, to make the ending seem more realistic but all in all a very enjoyable story.

Cover: I like this cover. It compliments the series beatuifully and reflects the book prefectly.

TBR pile

Hello world!

Review: Amazing! I havn't read a great book in a while and it was wonderful to be moved again. The title is a little off putting for me as it doesnt exactly roll off the tongue and I can never remember it,but thats about it.
Based on Jane Austin's Persuasion, this book is a sci-fi/dystopian, YA, romance. I have not read Persuasion but half way through this book, I bought it for my kindle.

REDWOOD BEND

Author: Robyn Carr
Genre: comtemporary romance
Series: Virgin River

Rating :B
Review:  I had almost given up on this series and I'm so glad I didn't.
Here's a summery:
Katie Malone and her twin boys’ trip along the beautiful mountain roads to Virgin River is stopped short by a tire as flat as her failed romance. To make matters worse, the rain has set in, the boys are hungry and Katie doesn’t have the first clue about putting on a spare. As she stands at the side of the road pondering her next move, she hears a distinct rumble. The sight of the sexy, leather-clad bikers who pull up beside her puts her imagination into overdrive.
Dylan Childress and his buddies are on the motorcycle trip of a lifetime. But the site of a woman in distress stops them in their tracks. And while the guys are checking out her car, she and Dylan are checking out one another.
In one brief moment, the world tilts on its axis and any previous plans Katie and Dylan might have had for their futures are left at the side of the road.
This is the 18th book in the Virgin River series and last year I started to get very bored with the recent additions. But once I fall in love with an author, especially if its in a series, I tend to be very loyal and give that author room to not be perfect all the time. So even though I was disappointed with the last couple of book, I kept reading Carr, hoping that the series would shine again. Redwood Bend was great. I liked the story and all the characters and I would recommend it to any fan of the series or contemporary romance.

Cover: Boring.

Dragonswan

Author:Sherrilyn Kenyon
Genre:Paranormal romance
Series:Were hunter
Cover: The cover model doesn't look like Bas to me but I like the colors and the tapestry in the background.

Rating: D
Review: Scholar Channon MacRea has spent years studying the legendary Dragon Tapestry, devoting days and nights to deciphering the impenetrable Old English symbolism. Then one evening the unnaturally handsome Sebastian appears. He claims to hold the key to solving the tapestry's mysteries. Bearing magnificently taut and tanned flesh marked by intriguing scars of battle, he also claims to be a dragon slayer trapped between two worlds. For Channon there's only one way to finally uncover the secrets of the intricate embroidery-by following the seductive stranger into a fantastic alternate world of magic, danger, and erotic adventure.
In a word....Ridiculous!

Lover Reborn by JR Ward

Genre:Paranormal romance
cover: I'm not a fan of this cover simply because this isn't how I pictured Tohr.
Series:Black dagger Brotherhood #10

Rating:A

Review: description from good reads; In the darkest corners of the night in Caldwell, New York, a conflict like no other rages. The city is home to a band of brothers born to defend their race: the warrior vampires of the Black Dagger Brotherhood.

Now back in the Brotherhood - and unrecognisable as the vampire leader he once was - Tohrment is physically emaciated and heartbroken beyond despair. When he begins to see his beloved in his dreams - trapped in a cold, isolating netherworld - Tohr turns to a self-serving fallen angel in hopes of saving the one he has lost. When he's told he must learn to love another to free his former mate, Tohr knows they are all doomed . . .

Except then a female with a shadowed history begins to get through to him. Against the backdrop of the raging war with the lessers, and with a new clan of vampires vying for the Blind King's throne, Tohr struggles between the buried past, and a very hot, passion-filled future . . . but can his heart let go and set all of them free?
I love this series and this latest installment was almost perfect. I personally do not like Xhex, so whenever she showed up I was only interested inasmuch as she related to the others. There was a point in the book where I wished Layla had more of a back bone. She was deliberately mislead and wasn't angry over being lied to. I wanted more from her than the weak female Ive come to know...but as a chosen, I guess I cant expect to much back bone. That dosent take away from the writing for me though. I was along for the ride every single second and what a Steamy ride it was! I found that right from the start I cared about these characters. Even Xcor and Throe. It was a very emotional read for me and I found myself tearing up at several points in the story and staying up until 3 am because I just couldn't put the book down. For any fan of Ward and/or The BDB series this is a MUST read and I recommend this series to anyone that likes paranormal romance. I feel that these books are best read in order so start with Dark Lover and enjoy!

Supernaturally

Supernaturally by Kiersten White
Genre: Paranormal romance
Cover: Thumbs up! I like the red it it flows good with the cover of the first book.
Rating:B

Review:  good reads:Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

I enjoyed this sequel to Paranormalcy. The world is interesting and this book gave Evie more depth as she learns more about her past and struggles with big decisions. If you're interested, start with the first book. This is book 2 in a trilogy and cannot stand alone.

Fantasy Lover

Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Genre: Paranormal romance
Cover: Id give it a C.I just don't like the model
Rating:C
Review: A sex slave cursed in an ancient book? Yeah, sign me up. But I was disappointed over all. I liked all the Greek god back story in this book but some of the character traits really bothered me. I found it very hard to believe that, as a sex therapist, Grace was such a prude. Also that, as an ancient fierce warrior, Julian would wouldn't want his son to practice with a sword. Also, the casual way that these ancient gods used English slang. I just didn't think it fit the characters and it kept throwing me out of the story. Even Grace's ex, Paul's comments were hard to believe.

Home with God

Home with God by Neale Donald Walsh
genre:spiritual
Cover:OK
Rating: A
Review: Amazing. The conversations with God books are sacred text to me. They've changed my world and this book is no different. From good reads:
Nothing has riveted humanity's interest more -- nor has anything been more frightening or awe-inspiring -- than the experience known as death. In Home with God, the final installment of his bestselling Conversations with God series, Neale Donald Walsch asks the questions that everyone has longed to ask and receives the answers readers have all been waiting for.
Through his profound and personal dialogue with God, Walsch explores the process by which all human beings must end their days here on Earth and begin their new life in God's Kingdom, to which all eventually return, regardless of their earthly deeds. This astonishing spiritual work offers hope, comfort, and surprising revelations for all humankind.
yup, amazing. I recommend this book for spiritual seeker and/or those who have anxiety concerning death.

Hana

Hana by Laren Oliver
Genre: dystopian, YA,romance
Cover: ok
Rating:B+
Review: I loved everything but the very ending. Which is usually my response to a Lauren Oliver book. Her books are completely engrossing! This book is part of Delirium from Hana's point of view. I highly recommend it to any one who enjoys the Delirium series

The Iron Duke

The Iron Duke by Meljean Brook
Genre: Steampunk romance
Rating:D
Review:
I really had high expectations for The Iron Duke and I'm really sorry that I cant honestly give the book a higher rating but I just didn't like anything about it. Right off the bat I was totally confused. The author jumps right into this altered world with slang and references that had no explanations. I found myself really struggling to understand. Then we have a hero that's just not likable, a brute really. I honestly just pity  the heroine,Mina.  I even dislike her mother. I cant understand how they can have nano agents and flying airships but still communicating via telegram? I'm still not sure why some people are zombies but others are buggers. And I didn't find the relationship between Mina and Rhys
romantic at all. Baxter and Hunt and Haynes all got mixed up to me as the story just failed to hold my interest.  Maybe this might interest someone who is really into steam punk but it was definitely no for me.

Kill me twice

Genre: romantic suspense
Rating:DNF
Review: DNF so I cant review but heres a tip: If your sister is missing, contact the police instead of posing as her and flirting with her bodygaurd.

Just the sexiest man alive

Genre:contemporary romance
Rating: A

Review: This was a smart and sassy contemporary romance. The lead female is a strong, smart and beautiful lawyer and the lead male is a gorgeous, conceited, jerk actor....but I so liked him! And I think thats hard for an author to pull off. Its hard to make a character flawed on the outside but have the reader see that inside, the character is authentically good. Ive trash many books because of a lead jerk! But this character worked and I really liked him. This is my first Julie James book but it will not be my last!

Perception

Perception by Kim Harrington
Rating: B
This is the 2nd book in a series and I enjoyed it just as much as"Clarity" the first book.Frist , I love the cover. It has a great look and goes well with the cover for" Clarity". Now, why was this a good read? I was guessing who the bad guy could be up until the end! This was a really good young adult mystery.  There were, however, a couple of things that I didn't like.  I felt like Clare had  said a couple of things, particularly to Perry, that sounded like someone much older than a teen. Also **spoiler alert*** what girl sets up a guy she likes on a date with another girl? never! and Clarity is much to smart to do something like that. That totally pulled me out of the story, I was like"Are you kidding me? Your not being nice, your an idiot". That said , I did like it very much and Yes, I would recomend it as a light mystery.

Pandemonium

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Genre: YA,dystopian,romance
Rating: A

Review:  I'm trying out a new rating system, I'm hoping it has a better look, let me know what you think. This is the sequel to "Delirium", which I liked very much, except of course for the huge cliffhanger at the end, "Pandemonium" is no different. Just as enjoyable of a read and it leaves you with a huge cliffhanger. I have to say that I love Laren Oliver's writing voice. I read her earlier work"Before I fall" also, which was amazing, but I'm never totally happy with the endings. Ms. oliver's writing style and story telling make it worth it for me but now I kinda go into her books expecting that I might not be totally happy with the ending but satisfied overall.
In this book we see Lena struggle physically and emtionally to survive in the wilds. Her journey is full of danger and intregue and brings lots of new and interesting new charaters into the mix. I read this book in one day and can not wait for "Requium" the 3rd book in the series!

Clockwork Prince

Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2)Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was the 2nd in the infernal devices series. I had a little trouble remembering the exact details of the first book. Thats another reason that I prefer to wait until a series is complete to read it. That said, I liked the book very much. The world that Ms. Clare created is so rich and unique. Will's charater goes on quite a personal journey and I loved seeing the changes for him. All the main charaters are back. Tessa, Jem, Jessamine, Will and sophie are all involved and have major parts to play in the tale. And I enjoyed them all in this dark, mysterious world. Of course the book ends with a cliff hanger and I look forward to the next book "Clockwork Princess".

Curio

Curio by Cara Mckenna 4 out of 5 stars

Oh My God.. what a fantastic read. First, I had no idea when I read this that the author is also Meg Maguire. Second, the emotional journey that the characters went on made this one of the best erotica books Ive read.

Hallowed

Hallowed (Unearthly, #2)Hallowed by Cynthia Hand

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Overall, I enjoyed this sequel. Even at the end I couldn't choose between Tucker and Christian. I didn't like Michael.I tried but I just felt that inspite of the rules, his kids needed him.I could so understand Jeff's anger. The book definately had closure but it also left some plot threads open. I read on Cynhtia Hand's blog that there will be a third book and I will be picking it up!

Caught on Camera (Harlequin Blaze #608)Caught on Camera by Meg Maguire

A really good friends to lovers book. The only thing I didn't like is a stupid move that Ty pulled at the end of the book. But all in all a good Blaze.

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)Cinder by Marissa Meyer

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this book! I was a little afraid that it might be a rehashing of an old fairy tale but no. It took the bare bones of the cinderella tale and spun it with a whole new body. I was left thinking about the effects of all the different factors that the author used like the cyborg,no crying, glamour, ect. Cinder was interesting, engaging and unique. The only thing I didnt like was that it ended in a cliffhanger! I didnt realize it was going to be a series. I hate cliffhangers! So, I cant wait for the next book in 2013.
